Bean Museum

So, I work at this place called the Bean Museum. It is on BYU campus and if you haven't ever been there, you are totally missing out and you need to go. Anyway, we have a new exhibit opening up in the next couple of days and I am pretty excited about it. The theme is Species Conservation and anybody that knows me knows that I LOVE my planet! I am all about conserving power, recycling, and, of course, saving those cute little animals. We are putting up several animals that are endangered and talking about how we can save them. It is going to be a really cool exhibit and the best part is that we are going to have an elephant! awesome! If you have any questions, go to the Bean's website

Endangered Species

So, I found this cool new site where you can check and see if your favorite species is endangered or not. Check it out!

Teaching

I went and pretended to teach earlier this week. Man am I terrible! I was getting really flustered by all of the random questions that were being asked by the students and I realized that I have no classroom management skills. Oh well, those will come. The important thing is that I felt like I was keeping my students entertained. I came up with a project that will hopefully keep the process of DNA replication sharp in their mind. They were having a hard time keeping up with everything I was teaching, but then we did this crazy little hands on project/skit thing where everybody had to pick their favorite protein, and then go and act out how it was all occurring. It was really funny to watch and the kids were having a good time and hopefully learning a lot.

Science in Action

So, this week I was telling my friend about how you can blow cornstarch into the air and make it light on fire. She didn't believe me, so I totally tried to get it to work and show her that I really did know my chemistry skills. However, right as I was blowing the cornstarch, a huge gust of wind took the pile and blew it onto the grass. The lighter went and caught the WHOLE pile on fire. It was really scary, but at the same time, incredibly awesome. Science is so cool!

Name of Blog

I have decided to give you a really good reason why the name of my blog is Caveman's Bulldog. So, back in the day, I went to Provo High School. I pretty much loved it, but that was back in the day. Recently, I was hired on as a basketball/softball coach at American Fork High School. Their mascot is the Caveman. I personally think that it is a pretty stupid mascot, but what can I say? There has to be at least one stupid mascot in each state. Anyway, I LOVED coaching at AFHS. Mucho. I kind of adopted the Caveman as a second mascot and I now consider myself part caveman. However, I still have a lot of Bulldog pride and cannot and will not abandon my PHS heritage. So, I am half Bulldog, half Caveman and therefore I am a Caveman's Bulldog. Retarded? yes. Awesome? absolutely.
